The Bodycare Startup Won the Marketplace Giant’s Attention Through Daily Social Media Conversations and Lifestyle Content Focusing on Bodycare in Miami
Miami-based Bodycare start-up The Skin Bitches founders Doris Richards and Katy Stoka had an exciting email arrive in their inbox from Amazon. “They asked us to participate in a Founder-led luxury beauty platform program. Basically a dream for founders at this stage of the game” says Stoka. She should know. Stoka invented magnetic eyelashes in 2014, and later sold the company she created around the invention in a seven-figure deal. “Amazon is a force in every category, they have created an impressive Luxury Beauty platform and are now seeking founder-led brands to build virtual storefronts to gain the attention of a new audience. A win for both of us” she says. “We launched Q4 2021 with amazing support from our friends, family, and local community. We competed in Regionals, now it’s time for Nationals!” Says Richards, a former Olympic diving champion who now adds the competitive spirit of sports to their business.
The Skin Bitches has resonated with their core customer through social media channels documenting their lifestyle, tips, tricks, and hacks all within the beautiful backdrop of Miami. “We are having a conversation about Bodycare. Our mission is to make this word synonymous with caring for your body on every level: inside, outside, skin, and beyond. We are not interested in selling you an amazing body brush and never seeing you again. We want to have a real conversation with our ‘Bitches’” they note. The Skin Bitches currently sells DTC from their website www.theskinbitches.com, and starting in April on Amazon Luxury Beauty.
